The Year in Review

Presenting at O'Reilly Security NYC

I find that I write so often for other publications and work I quite often neglect this space, so I wanted to do a recap of the past year, in bullets, for the sake of feeling that I'm not entirely neglecting this site.

  • Presented at the Ignite talks at the O'Reilly Security NY conference. With a five minute format, I presented on how to communicate the need for security both up and down your organization by asking questions, listening, and understanding the security drivers and requirements of each internal organization.
  • I left AlienVault and joined FourV Systems to start their technical support, documentation, training, and deployments group.
  • In July, I finished my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Digital Forensics. I am currently awaiting my winter conferral date and diploma.
  • I had the opportunity to present at Maker Faire NYC about Micro Drones! Flying drones, specifically micro quadcopters and racing quadcopters is a hobby of mine, and it was a blast to step out of my usual presentation comfort zone and talk about something I do for fun.
  • In more personal news, we adopted a wonderful dog named Crash last winter, and added further to our family this summer with a puppy named Mayhem. You can find them on instagram as @crashthestaffy and @mayhemthepuppy.
